Lynda Miller Baker

An Artist and Icon Painter working on antique and old wood using traditionally-prepared gesso and other media including egg tempera and natural pigments, Lynda also uses 24 carat gold leaf, and distresses the work, if required by the client, to give the appearance of age.

Impressed and influenced by the ethereal nature of the orthodox iconic expression, Lynda focussed her work in the mid-nineteen nineties, experimenting with and cross-fertilising the various styles to produce these works.

Lynda maintains the integrity of the iconic statement by adhering to the single most important aim of the earliest practitioners: that the finished article be but a channel for the spirit.
